Phillip Southern was born in North Carolina in 1948 and has lived in New York since 1976.He studied for several years at the Art Students League with Philip Sherrod, Ernest Crichlow, Vincent Malta, Gabriel Laderman and Ray Goodbred.He has been a member of the Street Painters since 1997, and has been showing with them regularly since then.
