My work is greatly influenced by the surrealist movement, using either a water- or oil-based medium on a scale of 12 x 12 to 56 x 84 inches in size. What excites me is the ambiguity of space that exists between the conscious and subconscious realms. Working from life, I paint created and/or found still lifes in conjunction with the nude figure placed in exterior and interior environments. My work is centered on the ambiguities of the illusion of a three-dimensional negative and positive space created by the linear qualities of organic and geometric forms. I received an MFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University and presently reside and work in New York City as an artist painter.
